“There is an inner wakefulness that directs the dream, and that will eventually startle us back to the truth of who we are.” ~Rumi

My Bio

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with a Masters degree in Social Work. For the past 22 years, I have been in private practice in Portland, OR specializing in somatic psychotherapy. I am inspired by the wisdom of the body and mind connection. From my training and certification as a Hakomi therapist, I incorporate mindful awareness and body centered practices into the therapy process. I work with individuals and couples and gender diverse populations, addressing a broad range of issues including: anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma, life transitions, spirituality and personal growth.

My passion lies in learning about the brain and how attachment develops with interpersonal relationship as an infant and again in adult relationship, and how trauma impacts it. I use somatic psychotherapies to address these issues, integrating mainstream psychotherapies to meld the best of both worlds. As adjuncts for treating trauma, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Somatic Experiencing®.

My experience also includes mental health and hospital settings, where I provided counseling for cancer patients, along with pain and stress management techniques. I work with many kinds of trauma, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), birth and childhood traumas, early surgeries, car accidents, falls and catastrophic events.
